SCRA announces new leadership promotions

Columbia, SC – South Carolina Research Authority has announced two recent promotions. Patti Mack is now director of finance and administration. Teresa Hinson is now the director of governance, risk, and compliance.

“Patti and Teresa have demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization. In just a few months, I’ve witnessed how they both take the initiative to ensure projects and processes in their respective areas are exceeding the goals,” said Interim President and CEO Bill Kirkland. “I’m pleased to have Patti and Teresa on our team as senior leaders.”

Joining SCRA in 2017, Patti Mack, CPA, is an experienced financial professional with a demonstrated history of leadership, financial strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and investment strategies. She served as controller and managed several operations across finance and administration before being promoted to director. She is now leading all financial and administrative operations.

Prior to SCRA, Patti Mack owned a home health care agency and served as director of finance at health insurance providers Centene Corporation and Carolina Care Plan. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and holds the Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF™) designation.

Joining SCRA in 2019, Teresa Hinson is a professional with demonstrated leadership and executive administration in the banking and legal fields. She served as corporate governance manager, overseeing executive leadership, board administration, and corporate governance processes. In her expanded role, she will continue to support and coordinate board administration while also leading SCRA’s governance, risk management, and compliance efforts across the organization.

Prior to SCRA, Teresa Hinson worked at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd P.A. and held roles as assistant vice president and human resources administration officer at South State Bank, as well as assistant vice president and assistant corporate secretary at First Financial Holdings, Inc., First Federal Bank, and affiliated subsidiaries.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University.
