Summerville, S.C. – myMechanic, The After Cancer, and Volare Boats were accepted as South Carolina Research Authority Member Companies. Brokerbase, NovaVia Spine & Biologics, Rapid Title, and Zitles received new grant funding.

All SCRA Member Companies receive coaching and access to SCRA’s Member Benefits and Startup Resources, can apply for grant funding, and have the potential to be considered for investment from SCRA’s investment affiliate, SC Launch Inc.

Brokerbase LLC received a $25,000 Project Development Fund Grant. The Greenville-based information technology startup uses its innovative technology to empower boutique real estate brokers to manage leads, market listings, and close deals efficiently.

myMechanic Inc. has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company. The Inman-based information technology startup has developed an application that links logistic fleet companies with service providers. The platform streamlines roadside assistance for broken-down trucks by connecting the drivers with local mechanics, towing services, parts suppliers, and repair shops.

NovaVia Spine & Biologics LLC received a $25,000 Academic Startup Grant. The Clemson University-based life science startup’s technology solution, the NovaVia Annular Repair System, is a medical device designed to repair a herniated intervertebral disc. The system is intended to serve as a mechanical barrier to cover the annulus fibrosus defect, prevent immediate re-herniation of tissue, and promote healing while the patient recovers.

Rapid Title Corporation received a $50,000 Acceleration Grant. The Goose Creek-based information technology company leverages an intelligent API platform that interfaces with consumers, dealers, and banks to rapidly complete motor vehicle title transfers.

The After Cancer Corporation has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company. The Charleston-based life science startup has developed a telehealth platform for cancer survivors that provides access to cancer survivorship care. The platform offers video consultations with oncology practitioners, provides evidence-based and reliable information, and offers group sessions and community support from other cancer survivors.

Volare Boats LLC has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company. The Johns Island-based advanced materials and manufacturing startup has developed a vessel platform that can service a range of maritime applications such as recreational, commercial, and industrial, with its flexible design, dynamic performance, and superior technology. The fully electric vessel will be equipped with a hull specially built for EVs to maximize efficiency, and will include an integrated steering, trim, and drive system.

Zitles LLC received a $50,000 Acceleration Grant. The Mount Pleasant-based information technology startup’s platform serves as a mechanism for cohesive communication between professionals and organizations searching for and reviewing titles. It eliminates inefficient processes and redundancies that plague the industry and enables users to better use data.

SCRA welcomes these new Member Companies and congratulates those that received funding.

Grant funding is made possible, in part, by SCRA’s tax credit program, the Industry Partnership Fund, and its contributions that fuel the state’s innovation economy. Contributors to the IPF receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit, making it an easy and effective way to help one of the fastest-growing segments of the South Carolina economy. Grant funding for Member Companies creates a direct, positive economic effect and job creation.
