Summerville, S.C. – ConusCoat, LLC, Sustain Edu, Inc., and Tested HQ, LLC have been accepted as South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Member Companies and have received grant funding. As Member Companies, they will also receive coaching, access to experts in SCRA’s Resource Partner Network, and the potential to be considered for an investment from SCRA’s affiliate, SC Launch, Inc.
ConusCoat, LLC has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company and has received a $25,000 Academic Startup Grant. Utilizing the latest in biotechnology, the Clemson University-based startup is developing environmentally friendly marine antifouling coatings for the maritime industry. The company’s offerings provide an alternative to the toxic, copper-based antifouling coatings currently in use.

Grant funding is made possible, in part, by Industry Partnership Fund (IPF) contributions that fuel the state’s innovation economy. Contributors receive a dollar-for-dollar South Carolina income tax credit, making it a no-cost way to help one of the fastest growing segments of the South Carolina economy. Member Company grants create a direct, positive economic effect and job creation.
