Summerville, S.C. – SCRA announced the recent acceptance of five Client Companies into its entrepreneurial program, SC Launch. Client Companies receive mentoring and support services and may also be eligible for funding.
Lowcountry Companies
Vizbii Technologies, located in Charleston, has developed a patented technology solution called Morphii, which measures human experiences by capturing reactions to stimuli. The solution allows users to self-report experiential response types like emotions, moods, and physical sensations, and their respective intensities, using digitally manipulated images. Preliminary applications include measuring the customer, employee and patient experience.
Midlands Companies
Carolina Diagnostic Solutions, located in Columbia, is creating products for pulmonary testing and disease management. The company’s most recent development is a telehealth platform that will provide connectivity between patients and providers to help better manage pulmonary health. Carolina Diagnostic Solutions is partnered with the USC/Columbia Technology Incubator.
WedTexts, located in Columbia, is an online communication platform that allows engaged couples (and wedding vendors) to enhance their guests’ experience through interactive text message and scheduled reminders. WedTexts’ patent-pending WedTexts Blueprint allows couples to schedule their communication in 5 minutes or less, manage their guest list and collect wedding photos.
Upstate Companies
CannuLucent, located in Greenville, is developing a line of dialysis training simulators for use in training facilities and individual clinics. The product was invented by a Greenville Health Systems clinician. The company was also approved for a $25,000 Demonstration Grant from SCRA.
Zylö Therapeutics, located in Greenville, has developed a sustained-release drug delivery system. The delivery system uses patented aerogel-derived nanoparticles, called Nanopods™, to sustainably deliver Nitric Oxide and other notoriously hard-to-deliver therapeutic agents through topical administration. The company recently moved to Greenville County and is expected to create 30 new jobs.
SCRA is a state-chartered organization that fosters job creation and grows South Carolina’s Innovation Economy. Through SCRA’s Entrepreneurial Programs, early-stage companies are provided mentoring and grants and may be eligible for an investment from SC Launch, Inc. The program is open to qualified South Carolina companies in the Advanced Materials/Manufacturing, Information Technology and Life Sciences industries.
