Greenville-based Life Science Company Receives $200,000
Summerville, S.C. –SCRA’s entrepreneurial program, SC Launch, Inc., recently finalized an investment for SterAssure Solutions, based in Greenville, SC. The company was accepted into the SC Launch program as a Client Company in 2015.
SterAssure has developed a patented technology that provides an environmentally safe solution for the disposal of medical waste generated from healthcare facilities. The traditional solution, incineration, is linked to hazardous emissions. SterAssure’s on-site disposal system transforms biohazardous medical waste into solid waste.
The company received a $40,000 Acceleration Grant in May 2017, which was used to complete beta testing. The $200,000 investment will be used to aid growth and further development in the industry.
“Working with SCRA’s entrepreneurial program, SC Launch has not only been a pleasure but also educational,” said Peter Kapetanakos, Sterassure CEO. “Every person we have been exposed to at SCRA has been professional and eager to help in the process. With the team’s advice, we have begun to move the company forward in the market.”
“SterAssure Solution has created a novel technology that is revolutionizing medical waste treatment and is environmentally conscious,” said Bob Quinn, Executive Director of SCRA. “The company is poised for growth and we are excited to be a part of it.”
