SC Launch Inc. announces investment in SiteLabs

| News Releases

Columbia, SC—SC Launch Inc., the investment affiliate of the South Carolina Research Authority, has invested $300,000 in SiteLabs, Inc. The Clemson-based health technology company is transforming independent pharmacies into neighborhood hubs for preventive care and clinical research.

The investment is part of SiteLabs’ $2 million Seed Round, led by Boomerang Ventures. It reflects SC Launch Inc.’s continued confidence in SiteLabs’ scalable model for improving healthcare access and supporting local businesses across South Carolina and beyond.

This SC Launch Inc. investment, as part of a broader fundraising initiative, exemplifies our commitment to strategic partnering that elevates our startups to new levels of success,” stated SCRA Interim President and CEO Bill Kirkland. “This initiative not only benefits SiteLabs but also contributes to job development and economic growth within our state.”

SiteLabs, Inc. became a SCRA Member Company in May of 2023 and an SC Launch, Inc. Portfolio Company when it received its first investment of $250,000 in October 2023. Since then, SC Launch Inc. has supported SiteLabs’ growth from pilot programs in South Carolina to a national network of pharmacies equipped to deliver high-impact preventive care. The company’s model not only expands patient access but also strengthens the economic sustainability of independent pharmacies through new revenue streams and patient engagement tools.

“Anytime we can help be part of something that’s helping patients get more access to healthcare, we want to do that,” said Rob Moser, Senior Investment Manager at SCRA. “Independent pharmacies are a trusted part of our communities and an ideal place for patients to manage their health proactively.”

“We’re helping these pharmacies become an extension of care in their communities,” said Darren Schaupp, CEO of SiteLabs. “Our partnerships with health systems, health plans, and pharmaceutical companies focus on preventive care and access to research for any patient — especially at-risk populations — providing convenient access to screenings for diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and other conditions.”

“This second investment underscores the strong momentum and social impact SiteLabs continues to demonstrate,” said Matt Bell, Executive Director of SC Launch, Inc. “We’re proud to support their mission of improving community health while advancing South Carolina’s innovation economy.”

With continued strategic participation from the Labcorp Venture Fund and new investment from Boomerang Ventures, SC Launch Inc.’s follow-on investment reinforces strong confidence that SiteLabs is building something special — a company working to redesign how patients access preventive care through trusted local pharmacies. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the company plans to scale its network from regional pharmacies to hundreds of sites nationwide.
