SCRA awarded Coastal Carolina University $640,000. CCU has $220,000 in matching funds for a total of $860,000 to bring biomedical and kinesiology research to to expand its capacity for developing new technologies across the institution, particularly in biomedical and kinesiology research. By engaging with the School of Business and strengthening relationships with local and state industries, the outcomes of this initiative will enable the institution to transition these technologies out of the lab setting and into the hands of users that need these solutions. Clemson University’s Center for Human Genetics is working with CCU on the project. The industry partners are Conway Medical Center and the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation.
