Summerville, S.C. – Dominion Energy, a leading energy provider, has contributed $200,000 to South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA’s) Industry Partnership Fund (IPF). The IPF funds SCRA’s programs, including grants to eligible SCRA Member Companies and to academic research projects that are producing industry solutions.

Recent grants include the funding of over $3.3 million to selected colleges and universities for translational research projects to address key challenges facing the state’s industrial base. These grants produce a direct positive economic effect.

Dominion Energy is among South Carolina businesses and individuals receiving a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for investing in the state’s innovation economy. A robust innovation economy means cutting-edge technologies and higher-paying jobs for South Carolina.

Providing energy to 16 states, Dominion Energy offers reliable, affordable, clean energy to more than seven million customers. They are a leader in the clean energy transition, with a commitment to achieving net-zero carbon dioxide and methane emissions from their power generation and gas infrastructure operations by 2050.

“At Dominion Energy, we believe in embracing change, and fostering innovative thinking is a big part of that,” said Rodney Blevins, President of Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We are proud to support tech startups that are strengthening our economy through innovation.”

“We have the wonderful opportunity to fuel innovation in our state. It is happening at our colleges and universities, and in tech startups around the state. Funding is a main factor in the success of all this activity, and we would not be able to provide it without partners like Dominion Energy. They continue to recognize our mission and join in it with us,” said Bob Quinn, SCRA Executive Director.
